20/02/2012 A day out with Bluebell the Springer Spaniel!

We love pet photography! Every pet owner knows that pets have their own personalities (though in the case of my two cats Ollie and Stan, it’s a rather dim one..) and it’s always a pleasure to be out and about showing your pet having a great time running about or simply enjoying a few cuddles with their favorite owner! From horses to lizards, cats and dogs, if you like your pet to have it’s own portrait session feel free to call Celynnen Photography, BIPP NW Pet Photographers of the Year Finalist (2010)

Here are a few pictures of Bluebell the Springer Spaniel having fun in her favorite wood and playing with her preferred toys: Pinecones!

02/06/2009 Coole Hall Farm, a wonderful Bed and Breakfast near Nantwich, Cheshire!

Bed and Breakfasts are wonderful places to stay at. Don’t get me wrong, hotels are fine too! The chains offer something familiar and each have their own market and purpose. But what really sets B&B’s aside, I think, is the personal touches and atmosphere! And Coole Hall Farm is full of them! From the picturesque drive as you approach the farm to the welcome given by the host family, everything here is set for your to relax and wind down!

Part of the Cheshire Farm Stay Network, Coole Hall Farm offers you the chance to see a real dairy farm at work as well as wonderful and comfortable accommodations! Like a lot of Farm Stay B&B’s in Cheshire, the hosts make a big difference! And Carolyn Goodwin, your hostess at Coole Hall Farm, will offer you a true Cheshire welcome and offers cooked breakfasts over her Aga and will make you feel right at home! A working farm, comfortable rooms, lovely farm animals and picturesque views, Coole Hall Farm, near Nantwich has it all for you to enjoy!

23/05/2009 Going, going, gone!

p3 flash gal placeholder Going, going, gone!
The Knutsford Amateur Operatics Society is the latest group of performers to work with us and we sure hope to work with them again soon! As the title suggest, their latest show was Adrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “The Likes of Us” , their first ever collaboration, and it’s unfortunately not on show anymore, the last representation being tonight.

Though they call themselves amateurs, the professionally made sets and costumes, combined to the excellent vocal and acting talent they harbor guarantee a night of quality entertainment, joy and so much more!

This performance was seen at the Theatre at The Grange School in Hartford, Cheshire.

Check out their website for more information!

Or contact us at ioan@celynnenphotography.co.uk if you are part of a theatre group that would like their events covered by Celynnen PHotography!

06/12/2008 Celynnen Photography: Bringing new music to you!

One thing that goes hand in hand with emotions is music. A few marking moments of my life seemed to have a background soundtrack to them, wether it was Pink Floyd’s “Shine on you crazy diamond” or Jimi Hendrix’s version of “All along the watchtower” or even Enigma, Moby, etc. Music can remind you about how you felt about someone, something or some perticular time of your life.

Being in the arts myself, I can definitely appreciate the hard word singers, songwritters and DJs have to do in order for people to hear of them. So, I have decided to associate myself with a few emerging talents that will now feature on my internet sldeshows as well as my DVDs.

The other day, I told you a bit about The Shallow Call, now let me introduce a very different artist.

Or rather let him introduce himself!

The Vinyl Gibbon:

“The Vinyl Gibbon (aka David Elliott) is a Brighton based musician who creates jazz with a twist. He has been producing music for over 10 years using a mix of real piano and synthesizers blended with world instruments and percussion. Influenced by Jazz, Latin and World Music he creates a diverse range of sounds in his projects. From Cuban and Brazilian grooves to smooth jazzy down-tempo beats, always with an experimental approach. Inspired by his many journeys around the world, he brings a subtle ambience into the music, such as the sounds of Bali and jungle noises from the Costa Rican rainforest.

Let’s open our ears real wide…”

05/12/2008 The Wrexham Symphony Orchestra: Music, People and Passion.

DSC 9773 Edit The Wrexham Symphony Orchestra: Music, People and Passion.

A few months ago, Nickie (my other half..and the other half of Celynnen Photography) and I decided that we would take one day a month and do something that will take us away from our computer screen and help us disconnect from the world a bit, specially from the dreary television and radio that we are being served these days. There are only so much credit crunch and Shannon Mathews news one can handle. So first we went to the Lowry in Manchester, a beautiful and inspiring place. A month later, we were back to see Slava’s Snowshow (which I discussed in a previous blog post..) But with Christmas coming, I was looking for a bit of classical music. Of course we found a few really interesting concerts at the Bridgewater Hall. But then, I discovered, thanks to our friends at Google, The Wrexham Symphony Orchestra. Based at the Glynd?r University, Wrexham Symphony Orchestra is composed by women and men of all ages that give their time so the public of North Wales (and beyond)  can enjoy beautiful music in a wonderful venue in an ever changing Wrexham. It was a great pleasure and honour for me to come and take pictures of the orchestra preparing for their upcoming representation called “Russian Nights” which will include Mussorgski’s Night on a bare mountain, Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kije and Rachmaninov’s Symphony No 1. I will definitely go on the 13th of December, after enjoying a nice meal in some of the local restaurants and perhaps end this wonderful night at the Pant yr Ochain, our favourite pub.

See you there!

31/10/2008 Theatre in Manchester

Once in a while, Nickie and I go to the LS Lowry Salford Quays. It’s a great wedding venue in Manchester but it’s mainly known as a wonderful gallery, museum and theatre. This Tursday, we went to see Slava’s Snow Show a wonderful and magical show by one of the world’s most renowned clowns! It’s very hard to describe this show exept to say that I had never seen something so visually spectacular! If ever they come your way and you want a nice evening with the family or a loved one, I definitely recommend this show, specially as winter starts creaping in!

Enjoy!

28/10/2008 Hotels in Cheshire Masterchef! The CATS Awards Masterchef photography in Chester

DSC 8576 Edit Hotels in Cheshire Masterchef! The CATS Awards Masterchef photography in Chester

Today was the CATS (Cheshire Awards for Tourism Skills) Masterchef competition held at West Cheshire College in Chester and let me tell you something right now: the heat was on in the kitchen! Four chefs were battling out, trying to outshine each other with a combination of their own ingredients and the “Mystery box” using local ingredients. Food photography on an empty stomach is a challenge in itself, but when you have to photograph some of the best chefs in Cheshire, it makes the job that much more complicated. In the pictures you’ll find Dan Speak of De Vere Carden Park, Leigh Myers of the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa
, Richard Clarke from De Vere Daresbury Park and Craig Malone from Nunsmere Hall

27/09/2008 Flora the Explorer..

The other day I took some pictures at the Royal Horticural Society’s Britain in Bloom National Finals for the lovely folk at Visit Chester and Cheshire. Met a few nice people. The Lord Mayor of Chester was really nice and friendly and his wife had an absolutely gorgeous dress. Chris Collins, a gardener often seen on tv and all over the world was a highlight of the evening with his great personality, smile and enthusiasm. Of course, the winners were at the centre of this event with some really friendly ladies from Scotland coming to mind. But there was another really intereresting and popular guest that night and it was Flora, Cheshire’s Year of Gardens Superlambanana!
