It’s always interesting how people find us! Some people stumble on Celynnen Photography‘s website on google or whatever search engine they like. Some find us via our Facebook page when one of their friends might have liked one of our status updates. Others, like David, find us via Twitter! They’re getting married very soon at the beautiful Soughton Hall, a place we know quite well since it’s where we earned our first award in 2008 and where we’ve done many other weddings (like Chris and Pauline‘s which will be online soon!) and I can’t wait as they’re a really fun couple and I’ll also be seeing other previous portrait photography clients!

For their pre-wedding shoot, we took David and Jen to Newborough Beach in Anglesey, one of my favourite places because you have the sea, the dunes, the forest (in case the weather isn’t that great..) wild ponies AND the Marram Grass cafe is really close and if you’ve never eaten there…you need to!

Luckily on that day, the sun was shinning and we had a really good time so can’t wait for the wedding!

At Celynnen Photography , we love it when friends and family of clients come to us for their wedding! We met David and Sally at his sister Rachael’s beautiful wedding in Shropshire where we had so much fun! So we were very excited when Sally and David contacted us for their wedding at Nunsmere Hall, a venue we have worked at since 2009. But beforehand, we went to Delamere Forest for a pre-wedding portrait photography session. These sessions allow our clients to see that we can actually have a good time during these sessions and they help eliminate a lot of the apprehension most of us have. If I had a pound every time I heard: “I’m not photogenic” or “I’m so nervous!” I’d be a rich man, so allow us to put you at ease! We might ply you with hot chocolate like we did with these two, but nobody can deny they look rather happy

Can’t wait until the wedding!

It’s spring. I promise. It WILL get warmer. Until then, you can always keep yourselves warm by giving each other some lovely cuddles like Laura and Greg before their wedding at the St-Georges Hotel in Llandudno. When we propose the pre-wedding portrait sessions , we always suggest to people to chose somewhere they like or like the idea of spending time there, just to help take a bit of the nervousness some people have when they are having pictures taken! So Laura and Greg chose Laura’s parent’s backyard because that’s where he proposed!

So here are (hopefully) our last cold weather images!

Sometimes, opposites attract. Gavin LOVES rugby league. A LOT.
Siobhan, not so much.
But when you see them together it’s clear that they share many other interests!
One of my favourite things about weddings is when people really make their wedding day special by adding little personal touches. I remember one couple gave little lavender plants as a wedding favour which I thought was pretty cool while when I’m running, I’m usually seen the handmade “Survivor Bracelet” that Sandra and Amanda were giving away at their wedding last April. I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to say, so I won’t say much at all, but their wedding will clearly feature a lot of their personality and I just cannot wait! Just over 1 week to go!!

PS: Notice how Gavin managed to include an ad for his website, Loverugbyleague.com on his rather cool wedding invites.

Pauline and Chris are getting married at the beautiful Soughton Hall very soon and like all Celynnen Photography wedding clients, they’ve benefited from a FREE pre-wedding portrait session!

It’s always important to us that our couples have a connection with their environment and in this case it was at and around the Barbican Centre in London. It was really interesting because I learnt so much about the local architecture, something that Chris is interested in because of his work and me because of my interest in genealogy and history! It was also lovely to see how much they loved each other and remember their time here in their first flat (which you can see in some of the pictures!)

Portrait photography is much more than posing. It’s also a connection between people and places. And as you can see, there is definitely a beautiful connection between those two.

North Wales Wedding Photographer of the Year

Hello people! Meet Jon and Jen! Two lovely people who recently got married at the Seiont Manor Hotel! (Don’t worry, I’ll get to their wedding pictures soon..)

But first, like all Celynnen Photography couples, they made the most of their pre-wedding shoot to have a lovely set of portraits. It was also a good occasion to get to know each other a bit more, which is always nice before the big day!

Jon is an Air Traffic Controller based at RAF Valley, so we were more than happy to offer them our military discount! It’s really interesting for me as I’m meeting more and more people in the RAF and the jobs are so varied! We had a helicopter pilots in Pwllheli , Search and Rescue personel in Abergele, members of the RAF Regiment… I simply love doing my best for people who do their best to make sure Britain is safe. Obviously, in America, military discounts are very common, so why not here? Maybe this is something you could talk about to local businesses in your area.

The portrait session was in Newborough Forest, Anglesey. Though we are based in Wrexham, we are more than happy to travel to a destination which is important to you because we know how intimidated some people can be in front of the camera, so we want to make sure everything is done to make this portrait photography session fun, memorable and comfortable.

Anyhow, hope you enjoy the pictures and I look forward to showing you images of Jen in her wedding dress and telling you more about her as she did a rather wonderful speech.

North Wales Wedding Photographer of the Year, 2012

There are people who are naturally funny and this time, I’m not talking about me! Despite the rain, the wind and interuptions from French tourists on some sort of treasure hunt in Grosvenor Park, one of my souvenirs from that shoot was how many times we heard Amir laughing though it was mainly aimed at me..

First he thought I reminded him of Omid Djalili. NOW.. I’m not being funny, but I am CONSIDERABLY slimmer (and better looking) than him.

Saying “He’s massively famous in Iran!” Didn’t make me feel any better.

Then when I told him I was 5’9, he almost had an asthma attack..

Anyhow that’s usually the atmosphere that we have at pre-wedding shoots. Lot’s of fun and lots of laughing. Nothing too serious here because it’s not about anything too complicated, it’s simply a nice day out somewhere important to you or somewhere you like spending time together. You just happen to have a photographer with you!

Charlotte having been a picture editor for Harper’s Bazaar was like most people more comfortable at first behind the camera which is totally normal. But our aim and style ensures you get a positive experience in front of the camera AND provide you with images that will reflect what your relationship is about in this case, I am sure you can see lots of happiness and togetherness and I know they have a wonderful future together ahead.

We met Charlotte and Amir after the Chester Grosvenor Hotel recommended us and we would like to thank them as we had a brilliant time together! Keep and eye for the wedding pictures to come up soon!

Let’s be honest, being a wedding photographer in North Wales is truly a privilege! From Mold to Caernafon, Portmeirion to Denbigh, Criccieth and Llithfaen, North Wales offers a wide array of beautiful and inspiring settings for your big day or, as it’s the case here, for your pre-wedding shoot!

Edwyn and Fflur came to us after hearing about Celynnen Photography through a friend and were a bit nervous about the pre-wedding shoot, like most people. But I think you can agree that they look rather good!

This year’s wedding season is well underway and that often means a spring of pre-wedding portrait photography for us! On the day of this portrait session we did by Penmon Lighthouse the sun was shining and the weather definitely gave an impression that summer was here! (As I am writing this, there is a snowman on my neighbours lawn..) We had a fantastic session and lots of fun and we cannot wait for their wedding in Plas Newydd, Beaumaris this autumn!

We met Amy and Graeme at the Seiont Manor wedding fayre which is an event Celynnen Photography attend regularly because of the friendly atmosphere and fantastic staff. Hope to see you there at the next one!

When 2 people so in love with each other allow you to capture moments they share together, you realise what a privilege it is to be a portrait or wedding photographer.

I met Jo though the Chester Grosvenor for which we are the Prefered Photographer. Unfortunately, Celynnen Photography were unavailable for Reinhardt and Jo’s wedding at Combermere Abbey but it was an honour to do their pre-wedding shoot in Delamere Forest, a place close to Jo’s heart. It was lovely to get to know them more and witness how supportive they were of each other. I predict they will spend many, many happy years together.
