19/10/2010 Celynnen Photography, Pope Benedict’s Official Photographer during the UK Tour?

No. Not really.
In fact the funny thing is I was watching the Pope‘s tour and thought to myself: “That’d be a cool gig to put on your CV!” And then, at that particular moment, as the Pope walks off, I see FOUR guys with cameras, following him and walking in front of him in the stairs!! I thought: “That could have been ME!!” Anyways.. maybe the good folks at the Vatican’s Press Office (I’m sure they have one..) or any other religious representative (Dalai Lama, i’m here if you want a PR shoot!) or any other VIP and politicians…think about good old Ioan at Celynnen Photography next time you visit these beautiful and green isles!

On the other hand, I was asked by Bolland and Lowe to provide pictures of the beautiful Lutyens Crypt in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. The Crypt, designed by Sir Edward Lutyens in 1930 is an absolutely beautiful place to visit, whatever your religious leanings (if any.) Gorgeous architecture and historic relics make this place a must-see for anybody visiting Liverpool. Of course, the Crypt is part of one of the most unique Cathedrals in the world with it’s circular shape. I could go on about it, but not being an architecture specialist myself, I’d probably just waffle a bit and prove my ignorance. So let’s let the pictures we took speak for themselves! 13/07/2010 Spend The Weekend in a Nice Little Place: Brook Farm near Ludlow!

Celynnen Photography have had the chance to work with many fantastic Bed and Breakfast and Self-Catering venues in the past years, but it’s not often that we get to experience them ourselves!

Until, that is, we were invited by Sarah, the wonderful hostess of Brook Farm in Berrington! Straddling the Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire borders, this little gorgeous B&B offers you not only the hospitality and the great food that’s made the region a must-see area for all of us foodies but it goes the extra mile with it’s highly recommended evening platters. I still fondly remember the evening passed with my wife, enjoying the gorgeous selection of food and easily the best cider I’ve tasted in this fine land as we were sat by the fire. Breakfast was the much loved full English Breakfast, but beautifully presented with, and it needs to be mentioned again, QUALITY ingredients and in a beautiful room offering a peaceful view outdoors.

I can’t wait to be back and I hope you get to experience it too!

28/06/2010 Providing new images for Stoke City Council: The Museums

WIth all the wedding photography we were up to, it was surprising that we found time to provide images for not 1, but 4 museums for Stoke City Council.

All our commercial photography assignments are different and I love to really get a real understanding about the subject and in this case, my passion and curiosity combined with the knowledge of the people working with me made this a memorable assignment!

It was a fantastic experience where I not only got to create hundreds of images for their image library, but our pictures will also be used in the printed edition of Stoke-on-Trent’s What’s On Magazine as well as the new brochures for the museums and their respective websites.

Spending so much time in “The Potteries” had to have some sort of effect and ever since I’ve been obsessed with Wedgewood and Royal Doulton tableware! I’ve become a plate turner!!

Here are a few pictures that will soon be featured to promote the Gladstone Museum, The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, The Etruria Museum where we covered Victorian Day and Ford Green Hall where you can have your wedding reception in an authentic 17th Century residence!

The other day I had the opportunity to take pictures at a wonderful bed and breakfast in Ludlow called:
Ludlow Town House.

Located right in the center of Ludlow, at 4 Brand Lane, with it’s own parking space, the first thing that strikes you is the convenience. But the moment you open the door, a whole new impression quickly sets in!

Space, comfort and luxury with a countryside touch welcome you in from the start! The stable doors in the back open up to give you a small glimpse of the incredibly vast back garden.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable and this bed and breakfast offers little extras such as a shower large enough for 2 and a wonderful clawfoot bath.

The location and comfort of this B&B is supplemented by Karen, your wonderful hostess, making sure you can explore Ludlow on a full stomach and with all the information you need.

Another 4 star B&B in Holmes Chapel I had the chance to work with is the Holly Tree Farm and B&B. Located close to Joddrell Bank, Holly Tree Farm is a working family farm, with sheep, beef and poultry. Guests are invited to explore the farm, meet the farm pets and help at feeding times.

Close by, you can also access the Peak District and stately homes such as and Capesthorne Hall where I went to do a photoshoot with fairies recently photoshoot with fairies recently.
