28/11/2010 The CATS Awards, 10 years of Celebrating Cheshire’s Vibrant Tourism Industry

At Celynnen Photography, we are better known for our wedding photography, our family portrait photography and our Boudoir photography. Recently, we also became the official photographer for Bounty’s parenting club offering newborn portraits, the Wrexham Crusaders (watch this space!) and renewed our relationship with the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra and Save The Family. All this work doesn’t leave us much time for event photography. But last Thursday, I was able to capture one of my favourite events of all: the CATS Awards.

The Cheshire Awards for Tourism Skills, or CATS are a fantastic event that celebrates all the hard work done by the people in Cheshire’s vibrant tourism industry. The categories reward everyone from volunteers to up-and-coming chefs, unsung heros to people deemed to have most contributed to the visitor economy. This year’s event was hosted by Chef Simon Rimmer.

The people I got a chance to talk with that night and seeing how much the awards meant to them made it a fantastic night to work at and I would like to thank all the people at Visit Chester and Cheshire for organising it so well and, of course, for choosing Celynnen Photography! icon smile The CATS Awards, 10 years of Celebrating Cheshires Vibrant Tourism Industry

11/10/2010 Celynnen Photography Returns to Hopton House Bed and Breakfast!

One of my favourite things as a professional photographer is returning to see previous clients. We’ve worked with Hopton House Bed and Breakfast in the past and it was a pleasure to go and see them again to witness a few changes! Hopton House B&B , a 5 Star Gold Bed and Breakfast featured in Alastair Sawday’s Special Places to Stay Guide, is a fantastic B&B located in the beautiful Shropshire countryside and is located just a few minutes away from Ludlow, described as “The Loveliest Small Town in England” .

It offers gorgeous rooms and breakfasts which are the envy of many, including myself! But you don’t have to take my word for it! It was recently named as one of UK’s Best Boutique B&B and one of the Coolest B&B’s in Britain ! So don’t wait! Experience Hopton House Bed and Breakfast for yourself and you will experience the best Shropshire has to offer!

If you are a B&B owner yourself and would like Celynnen Photography to help your business by providing you quality images, click on the contact link at the top of this page or contact us here! You can also see more interior photography on our sister site, Ioan Said Photography

23/05/2009 Going, going, gone!

p3 flash gal placeholder Going, going, gone!
The Knutsford Amateur Operatics Society is the latest group of performers to work with us and we sure hope to work with them again soon! As the title suggest, their latest show was Adrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “The Likes of Us” , their first ever collaboration, and it’s unfortunately not on show anymore, the last representation being tonight.

Though they call themselves amateurs, the professionally made sets and costumes, combined to the excellent vocal and acting talent they harbor guarantee a night of quality entertainment, joy and so much more!

This performance was seen at the Theatre at The Grange School in Hartford, Cheshire.

Check out their website for more information!

Or contact us at ioan@celynnenphotography.co.uk if you are part of a theatre group that would like their events covered by Celynnen PHotography!

08/04/2009 LLyr Williams at the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra

p3 flash gal placeholder LLyr Williams at the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra

If you’ve been reading this blog regularly, you will have probably figured out that I’m a fan of the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra . These passionate musicians bring some of the greatest classics right here in North Wales at a price that is affordable and makes a great evening out in the William Aston Hall.

Next month, they will not only play with passion, but with world-class pianist and North Wales native LLyr Williams.

Having played with the BBC Symphony and Minnesota Orchestras at the BBC Proms, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Hallé, Llyr has awed spectators and critiques from all over thanks to his intensity, passion and musical intelligence.

Come and see him at the William Aston Hall on the 2nd of May 2009

28/10/2008 Hotels in Cheshire Masterchef! The CATS Awards Masterchef photography in Chester

DSC 8576 Edit Hotels in Cheshire Masterchef! The CATS Awards Masterchef photography in Chester

Today was the CATS (Cheshire Awards for Tourism Skills) Masterchef competition held at West Cheshire College in Chester and let me tell you something right now: the heat was on in the kitchen! Four chefs were battling out, trying to outshine each other with a combination of their own ingredients and the “Mystery box” using local ingredients. Food photography on an empty stomach is a challenge in itself, but when you have to photograph some of the best chefs in Cheshire, it makes the job that much more complicated. In the pictures you’ll find Dan Speak of De Vere Carden Park, Leigh Myers of the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa
, Richard Clarke from De Vere Daresbury Park and Craig Malone from Nunsmere Hall
