Spring as sprung (sort of) which means family portraits, boudoir photography and pre-wedding shoots!

Pre-wedding shoots are essentially nice day’s out…you just happen to have a photographer with you! It allows us to get to know each other and for you to see how we do what we do!

Stefan and Stuart aren’t getting married (just yet!) but we did this shoot in the run up to the Gay Wedding Show in Liverpool with the help of Rebecca from Rebecca Jayne Makeup who also assists us on many of our weddings!

As you can see we also had their lovely dog on tow and that just adds to the fun! Couples sometimes choose to bring their pets or children or not and the location of the shoot is as varied as our couples! But one thing is sure is that by the end of it, you will know that you’ve chosen the right photographer for your wedding day!

Remember Sandra and Amanda? Well, the big day finally came! Or rather the big weekend!

As most of their families had to travel from far afield, our brides booked the gorgeous Hargate Hall for the whole weekend! One thing I truly love about weddings is seeing friends and families get together and learn about each other and this wedding definitely brought 2 very different worlds together, celebrating Sandra and Amanda’s love for each other as well as Sandra’s recent successes and her appearance in Weight Watchers magazine!

From the first time I’ve met them, coaching softball in Halton it was clear that they had lots of affection for each other and I would like to thank everybody that came for sharing such a special weekend with us and, obviously, a massive thank you to Sandra and Amanda for choosing Celynnen Photography.

Sandra and Amanda are getting married at the beautiful Hargate Hall very soon and we cannot wait!! Like all our same-sex civil partnership clients, they made the most of our pre-wedding portrait offer! And as they have a lovely dog named Bramble (how cute is that name?!) we had him tag along too!!

Celynnen Photography have worked with same-sex couples since the very beginning and it’s always a great honour to be trusted for such a special ceremony. When I asked Sandra and Amanda why they chose us instead of a Gay wedding photographer, their answer is one that really touched me. They said that the important thing for them was to make sure that they felt comfortable with their photographer and that they didn’t feel judged, which is the same thing with all couples really. Picking your wedding photographer is not only about pictures and prices, it’s about making sure you know you will be able to feel at ease with the professional you’ve picked for fun and natural pictures!

By the way, another reason why it was such a privilege to work with these two is that through sheer determination and by changing life habits, Sandra (the one with the longer hair) dropped an amazing SIX DRESS SIZES in 11 months! I’ve seen her change so much since I’ve known her, it’s an honour to know someone with such determination and that is showing us that if you REALLY want it, you can do it..

She is one of the most inspirational people I know!

Can’t wait till the big day!!

Just like Erin and Jann, Karl and Eugene are soon to celebrate their love , celebrating their civil partnership in Wales. So we made the most of the renewed Albert Docks to enjoy a good day out and shoot their e-session!

The other day I had the great pleasure to meet Erin and Jann for their E-session near Bolton, in preparation for their civil partnership in Portmeirion. After a nice cup of tea, we enjoyed…TORENTIAL RAIN! In fact the hardest rain I had seen in a long time! So we started with indoor portraits and that’s when things really started getting interesting with Jann telling us more about growing up in Wigan, a place I started getting really interested in after listening to the Audiobook: Pies and Prejudice.

E-Sessions are fantastic like that because they allow us to get to know each other better and that is always a good thing once we start working with you on the morning of your wedding and civil partnership. It’s also a great time for us to show you or test a few poses so that when the time comes, it all feels…and looks much more natural!

Thought both my assistant and I being put in a joyful daze at the thought of “pie parties”, we went back outdoors for more pictures portraying them in the most natural way possible. When the sun came out, the smiles came out and we had a wonderful session and I must say I cannot wait to capture their big day in one of the most iconic and idyllic venues in Wales.
