A few weeks ago, we went to visit our good friends Rosie and her author of a husband to be, Daniel Smith. We had a great time as always and made the most of our visit to take some pictures of them as we will be their wedding photographer in only a few weeks now! One of her guests is coming all the way from Australia and is actually one of my Boudoir photography clients! Rosie and Daniel are getting married at one of the most gorgeous wedding venues in Hertfordshire, Theobald’s Park.

Anyways..here are a few pics from the day! Two of them, I think have a FEEL of Robert Doisneau. I’m not saying I am him, but there’s just a bit of old school romance to them. Hope you like them too!

Well, this is it…our final Rhino Mania winner are:

THE ANDREWS FAMILY!

These super fans of Rhino Mania not only went all over Chester, Liverpool, Ellesmere Port and LONDON to see the Rhinos, but they’ve creatively assembled all of their pictures (including the 5 required entries at the top) in this beautiful Rhino Poster!

At Celynnen Photography HQ we were very impressed with their enthusiasm to say the least! The kind of enthusiasm and the joy I was lucky enough to witness when walking around Chester, seeing children with their trail map getting excited as they saw another Rhino, rushing to it’s base to read it’s name.

It was a pleasure and an honour for Celynnen Photography to be involved in this project and I would like to thank Chester Renaissance and Wild in Art for giving me the chance to be part of this project. We would also like to thank Big Storage for allowing us to shoot the Rhinos on their premises for a few days and for all their massive contributions to the project, as well as Visit Chester and Cheshire, The Northwest Development Agency, Chester Zoo, Chester West and Cheshire, Bank of America and all the other partners of Rhino Mania without who events of such quality would not be possible.

Rhino Mania allowed people of all ages to explore the city of Chester and celebrate the talent of local, National and International Artists, but it is also served a very important purpose: Raising money for Chester Zoo’s Black Rhino Conservation efforts as well as for a very well known and appreciated local charity: The Hospice of the Good Shepherd. Even if Rhino Mania has come to an end, you can still buy souvenirs and of course, bid on the upcoming RHINO AUCTION for that extra special souvenir.

Once again, congratulations to the Andrews Family for winning a FREE family photoshoot plus 16×12 Box Framed print as well as a souvenir ceramic Rhino. Looking forward to meeting you soon and thank you for participating.

Recently, I’ve taken over from Joanna from KinchPrint as the Editor of Creative Boom Wrexham! This is an exciting project for me as it will allow me to meet all sorts of creative people in Wrexham, North Wales and beyond and discover their passion (while taking a picture or two..)

BUT, what it means for you as a Celynnen Photography client is that I will have an even larger pool of inspiration to draw from as we aim to create timeless images of the most important moments of your lives.

The day started a bit of hot and muggy and the heat in the Bride’s bedroom was giving the air con a workout, but we knew from the start that  it was going to be a special day. We knew Susie and Steve were great fun from when we did some pre-wedding portrait photography in Portmeirion, and the moment we arrived, we saw that they were sell surrounded by a group of equally fun-seeking friends!

The boys went for the whisky as the rain was falling, threatening to take the celebration originally scheduled in the outdoor gazebo to one of the rooms inside the Double Tree Hilton. Susie obviously had other plans in mind and her determination to have her wedding outdoors paid off as the rain cleared the moment she stepped out. (Yes, the clouds actually parted for her, think about that for a visual!)

Anyways, enough of my crazy poetic license..you’re here to see pictures, not to read the ramblings of a crazy Quebecer!

By the way, the Chester Doubletree Hilton is a fantastic place for a wedding…or a romantic meal thanks to the Famous  Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill. This also meant that Doug, my equally famous assistant and myself had a FANTASTIC meal!

Being a wedding photographer is obviously a privilege, and I privilege I am truly grateful for every time one of my client’s special day comes. But some people often forget how much of a privilege it is to do family portrait photography as well!

For the time of an hour or two, you are trusted to capture the very special relationship that unites a family, capturing them in the most natural way, as they are.

Recently, this privilege was given to me by Chester Chronicle‘s own Allie Dickinson who won a free shoot by participating in a contest in our newsletter. From the very start I could see this was a very special family held together by a very close bond. It was beautiful to see and I will remember this shoot fondly. Hope you like the pictures too.

With Wedding photography season still in full swing, we’re having a great time covering the country to better serve our brides! We did some wedding photography in Chester, we’ve had a great time covering weddings at Thornton Hall, we’ve even worked as wedding photographers in Rochdale and Portsmouth! BUT…don’t forget:

At Celynnen Photography, we are always reminded what a privileged position we are in when we are invited to capture a wedding. 2 families coming together around 2 people who love each other, sometimes despite not being able to see each other as much as they would like.

6 days after their pre-wedding shoot , It was time for  Steve and Jo to get married. They chose Rowton Hall, one of the nicest venues in Chester, featuring beautiful grounds, beautiful architecture  and really friendly staff, just outside Chester’s town center!

It was a gorgeous day to unite 2 beautiful families. Steve, an ex-Royal Marine had just recently come back from Irak and only had a few weeks off again, so they made sure that everyone enjoyed themselves and that they we took a good record of this very special day.

Thank you for inviting Celynnen Photography to this very special occasion and keep safe, Steve!
